Travel Immunisations/Vaccinations

Please make an appointment with the practice nurse, at least six weeks in advance of your holiday to ensure adequate cover. The practice nurse is also able to give detailed advice on all travel vaccinations and malaria prevention, as well as general advice for travellers.
A travel questionnaire is required to be completed and returned to the practice two to three working days before your appointment.

The surgery is an authorised Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre.

Flu Vaccination

An influenza vaccination is particularly recommended for patients with heart, lung or kidney disease, diabetes, and residents of nursing and rest homes. Please contact the reception staff in October for details of the vaccination dates and to make an appointment. If you are unable to attend the surgery, a home visit will be arranged to undertake this facility.

Pneumococcal Vaccination

If you were around in 1940, you could be at risk from serious pneumococcal disease. The Department of Health recommends that everyone aged 65 and over is vaccinated against this potentially fatal disease. Most people will only need this once. Please contact the reception staff to make an appointment with the practice nurse.
